Let the adventure begin when you board your overnight Virgin Atlantic Airways flight to London with meals and a movie on board.

July 16: Thu London
Arrive at London Heathrow Terminal 3 and proceed to Terminal 4 to connect with your Kenya Airways 101 flight to Nairobi.

July 17/18: Fri/Sat Tarangire National Park
Arrive Nairobi in the morning and connect with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha. On arrival you will be met by Somak Safari’s Tour Director and after a safari briefing continue your adventure to Tarangire National Park, named after the river that flows through the length of the park and provides a constant water source for the thousands of animals making their home here. Lunch is at the lodge and a late afternoon game drive will bring you close to a large variety of wildlife. Two more game drives are planned for the next day.

July 19/20: Sun/Mon Ngorongoro Crater
Early departure for Ngorongoro Conservation area; host to the ‘birthplace of man’. It is also home to the unique intact caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is home to abundant game, including the “big five” – elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo. This afternoon depart on a half day tour of the crater. Next day, proceed on an early morning tour of the crater. Later this afternoon, enjoy photographing the wilderness landscape in the surrounding area.

July 21: Tues Lake Manyara National Park
Early morning depart to Lake Manyara National Park, well known for its tree-climbing lions. The afternoon is set aside to explore the park on a late afternoon game drive.

July 22/23Wed/Thur Amboseli National Park
After early breakfast, drive to Amboseli National Park nestled at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Lunch at the border post at Namanga before entering Amboseli National Park. Afternoon game drive. On the following day enjoy an early morning game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then visit a Masai village. Late afternoon game drive followed by a special bush dinner.

July 24/25: Fri/Sat Lake Nakuru National Park
Drive through Aberdares Mountain range and the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park once described by ornithologist Roger Tory-Peterson as ‘the most fabulous bird spectacle in the world’. Afternoon game viewing drive along the lakeshore. Next day’s activities include 2 game drives and an evening lecture by the lodge’s naturalist.

July 26/27: Sun/Mon Masai Mara National Park
Drive to the Kenya’s most famous National park, the Masai Mara. The Mara is home to the annual migration where millions of wildebeest and gazelle trek from the Serengeti plains into the Mara. Later this afternoon enjoy your first game drive in the Masai Mara. Next day enjoy an early morning game drive. Return to the lodge for lunch before your late afternoon game drive.

July 28/29: Tue/Wed Masai Mara National Park
Morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Continue on to the Eastern part of the Masai Mara. Arrive in time for lunch at Mara Serena lodge followed by an afternoon game drive. On the next day an early morning game drive is followed by bush breakfast at the hippo pool. Lunch at the lodge followed by an afternoon game drive. (BLD) Mara Serena Lodge

July 30: Thu Nairobi
Morning game drive followed by breakfast. After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi where a Somak Safaris driver will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Afternoon time to relax or do some last minute shopping. Dinner at the hotel. Later transfer to the airport for your Kenya Airways flight 102 to London.

July 31: Fri London/ Arrive USA
Arrive at London in the morning and connect with your flight home to share pleasant memories of your trip to Tanzania and Kenya with family and friends.
