Photo Safari
ESCORTED BY
PROFESSIONAL WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER
PAUL RENNER May 27 - June 8, 2011
On this
wildlife photo safari we will explore three different
habitats in northern Botswana. Your adventure begins in Moremi, the
heart of the Okavango Delta, which offers one of the finest
wildlife photo and nature observing opportunities in Africa. We also
visit and photograph Chobe National Park, known for the largest
concentration of elephants on the planet. Besides your normal plains
game, these areas have good concentrations of roan, sable, lion,
leopard, cheetah, hippo and wild dog. Large herds of elephant also
move through the area. This will be an exciting safari!
Our safari will include day and night

The Okavango
Delta is formed by rains that fall in northern Angola, over 600
miles away. This life sustaining moisture flows down the Okavango
River and spills out onto the Kalahari Desert creating the world's
largest inland delta. A rich tapestry of channels flowing with
crystal-clear water, the Okavango Delta stands as an oasis within a
surrounding desert landscape. Over 1100 species exist in this
beautiful and exceptional wilderness.
The Moremi Reserve is rated as one of Africa’s finest
game-viewing areas, offering sanctuary to abundant herds of elephant, sable,
giraffe, tsessebe, lechwe, wildebeest, impala and waterbuck. Lion, leopard,
cheetah, wild dog and hyena complete the picture. Birding is quite
spectacular, especially during spring and summer when the migrants breed.

Okavango Delta
After breakfast and the morning game viewing activity
take the chartered flight to Pom Pom Camp, situated in the western
part of the Okavango Delta on a private concession
Whether you're starting the day before sunrise to
view the animal kingdom's early risers or tracking the great
nocturnal beasts with spotlights at night, the game viewing
experience is the highlight for most people. Because of the
unspoiled wilderness, the absence of fences and other man made
infrastructures, we're able to deliver the Africa you dreamed about.
Wide open plains alive with game and palm trees or winding waterways
teeming with birdlife. Your game drives centre on the movement of
animals, which are in turn dependent on the season and the rainfall.
You might be hunting way off road with a pack of wild dogs one day
or sitting silently watching elephant drink and bathe the next.
Game drives themselves are an incredible adventure.
Arrive in time for a
light lunch before departing on the afternoon game viewing
activity. Activities to choose from consist of mokoro, boat
cruises, fishing, guided walks, morning and evening game drives in
4x4 open safari vehicles. Return back to the camp with time to
freshen up before dinner.
