February 08: Monday                          Depart Los Angeles
Let the adventure begin when you board your overnight Virgin Atlantic 
Airways flight to London with meals and a movie on board.

February 09: Tuesday                           London
Arrive at London Heathrow Terminal 3 and connect with your
non stop overnight flight to Nairobi, Kenya.

February 10: Wednesday                      Arusha
Arrive in Nairobi and connect with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport 
in Arusha. On arrival you will be met by a Somak Safari’s Tour 
Director who will transfer you to your hotel.
Safari briefing and rest of the day is at your leisure.

February 11/12/13: Thu-Sat                   Serengeti Plains  
Today’s journey passes through the scenic areas of the eastern 
Serengeti plains. The Ndutu Lodge, strategically located in the area, 
which is alive with the migration. This time of the year is also 
birthing season when many babies are born. Three days are earmarked 
to witness nature’s greatest spectacle, the migration of over a 
million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle. Daily morning and late  afternoon
game drives are planned for memorable photography.

February 14/15: Sun/Mon                  Ngorongoro Crater
Depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area; host to the ‘birthplace of 
man’. It is also home to the unique intact caldera, the Ngorongoro 
Crater. The crater is home to abundant game, including the “big five” 
– elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo. Enjoy a picnic lunch as 
you descend to the crater floor. Next morning, another game drive in 
the crater.   In the afternoon, we will visit a nearby Masai village.

February 16:  Tue                      Nairobi                                                         
This morning drive to Arusha and lunch at the Arumeru River Lodge.  
Later connect with your flight to Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi this 
afternoon and transfer to your hotel.

February 17/18:  Wed/Thu            Lake Nakuru National Park
Drive through the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park once 
described by ornithologist Roger Tory-Peterson as ‘the most fabulous 
bird spectacle in the world’. Afternoon game viewing drive along the 
lakeshore. Next day’s activities include 2 game drives.

Feb 19/20: Fri/Sat           Masai Mara National Park
Drive to the Kenya’s most famous National park, the Masai Mara. The 
Mara is home to the annual migration where millions of wildebeest and 
gazelle trek from the Serengeti plains into the Mara.  Lunch at the 
Keekorok lodge. Later this afternoon enjoy your first game drive in 
the Masai Mara. Next day enjoy an early morning game drive. Return to 
the lodge for lunch before your late afternoon game drive.

Feb 21/22: Sun/Mon        Masai Mara National Park
Morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Continue your 
safari to the heart of the Masai Mara. Arrive in time for lunch at 
the Serena Lodge  followed by an afternoon game drive.  On the next 
day, two game drives are planned to explore and photograph the 
abundant wildlife.

February 23: Tuesday                   Nairobi/London
Morning game drive followed by breakfast.  After breakfast, transfer 
to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi  where a Somak Safaris 
driver will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Afternoon time to 
relax or do some last minute shopping. Dinner at the hotel. Later 
transfer to the airport for your flight to London.

February 24: Wednesday              Los Angeles
 Arrive at London in the morning and connect with your flight home to share pleasant memories of your trip to Tanzania and Kenya with family and friends.
